One of the tools I use with older children and teens is a future pathways planning template.
It supports young people to explore interests, strengths, and possible directions and to understand how learning can connect to their own goals.
This isn’t about choosing a career early or locking in decisions. It’s about learning how to plan, break ideas into manageable steps, and give learning a clear “why”.
For many children, this shift changes learning from “because I’m told to” to “because this helps me move towards something I care about.”
I’ve made this tool available as a low-cost digital resource for families who would like a gentle starting point
