Real Learning Counts – Weekly Recap (Week 2)

This week was full of movement, imagination, and everyday learning moments.

Learning looked like:
• measuring length and height using LEGO and dinosaurs
• experimenting with volume and flow during sandpit play with water, buckets, shovels, and trucks
• outdoor free play — climbing, sliding, bouncing, digging
• role-playing with baby dolls and exploring care routines
• a toddler using imagination to create a rainbow mermaid tail with towels, inspired by our visit to AQWA
• name recognition through reading, tracing, and early writing
• phonics and reading practice using VTEC sound activities
• noticing and continuing patterns using the YOTO player and highlighters
• building, balancing, and problem-solving with wooden blocks
• following children’s interest in self-care by setting up hair-care and teeth-brushing play with dolls and props

Some learning was planned.
Most of it emerged naturally.

It was hands-on.
Child-led.
Connected to real life.

And it all counts
